Today, Crytek and EA announced that the Crysis 3 multiplayer beta will start next week on January 29th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC players, with two maps and two modes being available to play.
The beta will feature two modes: Crash Site and Hunter Mode. Crash Site is the standard capture and defend objective mode, compared to Hunter Mode, which is a round based mode where two players, with only the new Predator Bow and cloaked Nanosuits, hunt 10 (14 on PC) other players playing as CELL Troopers. When a Trooper is killed, they will join the Hunters, until there is only one Trooper standing or the time runs out.
Crysis 3 will ship with twelve maps, but the beta will only feature two of them: Airport and Museum. We haven’t played either of them so there’s not much to talk about yet, but be sure to check back next week for our impressions of the new maps, modes and all things Crysis 3.
