New Serious Sam 3 Patch Adds Free Multiplayer Maps

Posted by Peter Carpenter | 15 Oct 2012 |

It’s hard to argue with free stuff.

This is a big week for Serious Sam 3, with the Jewel of the Nile campaign DLC being released tomorrow on PC and then on Wednesday the main game and DLC will be released on the Xbox Live Arcade. To celebrate, Croteam have released a new patch for Serious Sam 3 on the PC, which not only fixes a ton of issues, but it also adds 10 free multiplayer maps as well.

The patch will include seven versus maps and three survival maps, which is pretty substantial considering it’s free. To get that many maps for most shooters it would cost you at least $30, so even if half of these maps suck, you’re still getting a great deal. There’s no word yet on whether these 10 maps are going to make their way to the XBLA version as well, but we’ll update once we know more. Being a patch, it also includes a massive list of updates, fixes and tweaks to the game, and you can read the entire list here.

If you’ve been waiting for the Xbox Live Arcade release of Serious Sam 3 then you can check out the trailer below and then read our PC review here.
