Coming on Halloween.
Today, Gearbox Software announced Borderlands Legends, a top-down, squad-based, action-RPG that is set to release this Halloween on iOS devices.
Priced at $4.99 on the iPhone and $6.99 on the iPad, Borderlands Legends will feature the original Vault hunters, Brick, Mordecai, Lilith and Roland as you touch and tap your way to some sweet loot. There are no details on the story behind the game yet, but according to the first report on Entertainment Weekly, it will feature randomized objective-based missions, enemy difficulty scaling, no level cap, Second Wind revivals, smaller Skill Trees, a Marcus vending machine to purchase new weapons and items and it will have you controlling all four Vault hunters at once.
This new strategic, squad-based gameplay is new to the series and I’m interested to see how it all works, especially on an Apple device. There’s no word yet on whether or not Borderlands Legends will launch on any other mobile devices, at launch or after, but I could see this working really well on something like the PS Vita compared to using just the touch screen on an iPhone or iPad, but only time will tell.
For now, check out the first screenshots from Borderlands Legends below.
