Mad King George says “Buy more DLC”.
Ubisoft revealed their DLC plans for Assassin’s Creed 3 today, and they include one of the better ideas for a story that I’ve heard in a long time. Of course, all of the DLC will be available under a season pass, but at least it sounds cool!
For their Assassin’s Creed 3 single player DLC, Ubisoft will be releasing a three part adventure titled “The Tyranny of King Washington.” This story will be an alternate history of the United States of America in which George Washington installs himself as the King of America.
“History is our playground, and Assassin’s Creed teams have always loved playing with historical facts and their consequences as a way to better understand a time period.” said Sebastien Puel, Executive Producer at Ubisoft. “While Assassin’s Creed III concentrates on history as it happens, we wanted to take some liberties with this DLC and tell you how things ‘could have happened.’”
The DLC plans also include two multiplayer map packs and all five DLC packs will be available in a Season Pass format for a discounted price of $29.99 (individual prices have not yet been released). All of the above mentioned DLC is scheduled for release within six months of the release of Assassin’s Creed 3 and will be available on all platforms, including the Wii U.
As a big fan of Alternate History fiction, I love the idea behind the Tyranny of King Washington. What do you think?
