Up your Gamerscore for more rewards.
Microsoft is upping the ante on the Xbox Live Rewards program today by adding new rewards based on your gamerscore. That’s right, after all these years, and all those hours spend hunting achievements you can finally tell mom you made money playing video games.
“You’ve been faithfully building your Gamerscore for years now. To reward you for your dedication, we’ve created MyAchievements for Xbox LIVE Rewards Gold members. The MyAchievements level that you earn – CONTENDER,CHAMPION OR LEGEND – depends on your Gamerscore. The higher your score, the bigger the reward!” Microsoft said in a release today.
The Contender level will get you a “Special Gift” during the month of your birthday and the Champion and Legend (pffft, 25,000 is a legend?) will get you the “Special Gift” as well as a 1%, and 2% points rebate on all of your Xbox Live purchases respectively.
This isn’t a bad start, but it’s really time that they started rewarding you with other things like in-game items, or Avatar gear based on your Gamerscore. I mean, I did have to buy all of those games to get the achievements.
