How have I not heard about this game before?
With so many games coming out these days it’s easy for a few to fly under the radar, and one that has avoided my attention at least is Tragnarion Studios upcoming Third-Person Shooter, Scourge: Outbreak. It has everything I normally get excited for in a game and I’m not sure how I managed to not hear about it before. Well that all changed today as I finally crossed paths with the latest trailer.
For those who may not be familiar with it either, Scourge: Outbreak is set in the near future where corporations are fighting over a new energy source called Ambrosia, which is now being used to control the world’s economy. The campaign supports four player online co-op as you each control one member of Echo Squad, a team of Mercenaries hired to rescue the scientist who developed the new energy; who has been kidnapped by a rival corporation. During the mission, Echo Squad soon find out that there is more to this new energy than they were told, with mysterious creatures being unleashed on our world.
Each member of Echo Squad will have their own unique flashbacks throughout the story, special abilities and different weapon proficiencies. It will also feature a full multiplayer suite including Team Deathmatch, Capture The Flag and an original mode called Frontier. The best part is that while it all sounds like the making of a $60 retail game, Scourge: Outbreak is actually being released significantly cheaper on the Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network, PC and MAC.
It looks and sounds good so far, so hopefully the game ends playing even better. Check out the trailer below to see Scourge: Outbreak in action.
