Konami finally updates on the long-awaited patch.
Back in April, Konami announced that they were working on a patch for the Silent Hill HD Collection to fix various issues in the game, but have been rather quiet on its release since then. Then today they announced that the patch has been rolled out for the Playstation 3 but cancelled for the Xbox 360 due to technical issues and resources.

Konami provided the following statement on the patch:
“Understanding the issues some users are experiencing, KONAMI issued a title update for Silent Hill HD Collection (PS3), which fixed frame rate issues as well as audio-synching and other reported issues. KONAMI apologizes to any players who are continuing to experience these issues on the XBOX 360 sku.”
So that’s that I guess. Hopefully they will get around to finishing and releasing the Xbox 360 patch, but it seems unlikely at this point. For now, if you are planning on picking up the Silent Hill HD Collection and have both consoles, you should probably get the PS3 version.
