Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC Confirmed

Posted by Scott Grant | 03 Aug 2012 |

A new single player mission, plus some new weapons.

While unverified info about this DLC leaked a few months ago, EA confirmed the existence of the Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC today at their summer showcase. As rumored, Leviathan will take players back to the single player campaign where Commander Shepard will learn more about the Reapers.

Taking place during the events of Mass Effect 3, players will be tasked with investigating a weapon that is rumored to be able to destroy a Reaper. In the furthest reach of space, the team will discover more about the origins of the Reapers and the Leviathan itself. The Leviathan DLC will open up new star systems, new characters, new areas on the Citadel and unlock some new weapons; the AT-12 Raider shotgun and M-55 Argus Assault Rifle. Available on all platforms, it will cost $10 or 800 Microsoft points.

There is no release date yet for the Leviathan DLC but the target is this summer. This also wasn’t the only DLC for Mass Effect 3 that EA and Bioware announced today.

On August 7th, the Firefight DLC Pack will be available for download and will add a pile of new weapons to the single player campaign. This DLC will only run you $2, or 160 Microsoft Points. Who’s going to be starting a second or third playthrough with this announcement of some new single player DLC? I might.
