NHL 13 is the Hockey nerd’s dream.
I know I’ve said before, when watching gameplay from previous EA NHL games, that this is like watching a real Hockey game but I was absolutely wrong as evidenced by the video below. Instead of flashy highlight reels, which I’m sure will come closer to the launch, EA are giving us the type of videos that will get the attention of any Hockey nerd.
In this video, NHL 13 Gameplay Producer Ben Ross is back to tell us more about EA’s underlying Hockey IQ system and how it relates to defensive play this time. Positional play is key, much as it would be in real life, and things like getting your stick in the passing lane, body position and the AI’s ability to read the play are featured in this video. Anyone who really knows Hockey will be able to see all of the little things that I’m talking about at work here.
