Who do ya Voodoo again?
Techland and Deep Silver have dropped the first real details on Dead Island: Riptide, the follow-up to the co-op Zombie RPG from last year. There will still be a ton of zombies, of course, but what else is going on here? Let’s find out.
SPOILER warning for those of you who haven’t completed the first game: Dead Island Riptide picks up where the first game left off, and you’ll be taking control of the four survivors from the original Dead Island. The group has made it to a military ship off the coast of Banoi but a monsoon soon leaves them back in the water, fighting for their lives. They’ll wind up on the Island of Palanai, and the city of Henderson where they’ll meet up with a mysterious fifth playable character.
Riptide will still feature the same sort of action that made the first game great, but will also have some new features. Hub Defense Missions will have you placing barricades, turrets and traps to defend a safe zone from the undead horde. Dead Island: Riptide will be released some time in 2013 and you can check out the new screens below:
