The strategy XCOM, not the shooter XCOM.
It’s been a while since we last heard from Firaxis, or 2K Games, about their upcoming resurrection of the classic strategy franchise, XCOM: Enemy Unknown. It seems like they’re in the mood to talk as not only was a story trailer released today, but we now have a firm release date.
For those of you who’ve forgotten, XCOM: Enemy Unknown will put you in command of an elite squad of soldiers, known as XCOM, who are set to battle and invading alien force. Not to be confused with its counterpart first person shooter, simply titled XCOM, Enemy Unknown’s battles will take place as a series of turn based strategy missions using soldiers you’ve recruited and customized yourself.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be released on October 9th, 2012 and you can watch the new trailer below:
