Damned if you aren’t a sight for sore eyes.
Born in Harlem, New York, 1956, Keith David knew from a young age that he wanted to be actor. Since that time he has amassed and extremely impressive resume and remains a face and voice that people everywhere continue to recognize.
He is known for portraying high tempered and extremely irritable characters in film and, because of this, has gathered a large assortment of memorable lines. The kind you hear quoted by a drunken friend on New Years and Birthdays. One of the first films I remember seeing Keith in was John Carpenter’s The Thing, with talent like his helping to make the movie the classic it has become. His career really took off on a global scale after his portrayal as King in Oliver Stone’s Platoon, an epic story on the horrors of war.
He made his voice talents known to the world with his captivating portrayal of Goliath, the iconic leader in the mid-nineties Disney cartoon “Gargoyles,” as well as his perfectly sinister portrayal of Todd Macfarlane’s cult comic book character, Spawn.
Many people in the video game world will recognize and appreciate the voice work of Keith from such iconic roles are the Arbiter from the best selling (and personal, group favorite at The Controller Online) Halo series as well as the trilogy spanning role of Captain/Admiral David Anderson in the Mass Effect Series.
Keith has a fantastic voice and its voices like his that help make the games we love present themselves as best they can.
