Ride the subway they said, it’ll be fun they said.
A new Resident Evil 6 gameplay demo surfaced today, coming out of the Capcom Summer Jam and in it, we get to see an extended gameplay session featuring Leon and series newcomer, Helena Harper.
First off, and I can’t mention this enough, you’re fighting actual zombies here, much like we saw in the E3 gameplay demo. Second, this section of the game allows the players to move much more freely than the sections we saw at E3. Lastly, there are a lot of zombies attacking from all sides, as well as trains roaring by, in the first section, but the second section is much slower, letting the tension build.
If Resident Evil is going to move forward in the action department, I think it still needs to have these atmosphere pieces to stay true to its roots. I’m really hoping the majority of Resident Evil 6 looks more like this than what we saw at E3, or from the action-heavy debut trailers.
You can watch the video below but, be warned, not a word of it is in English. You can, however, kind of get the gist of what they’re saying by the way the lady on stage reacts to everything. Resident Evil 6 has her attention, at least.
