Latest OUYA Update Includes New Screenshots And OnLive Support

Things just got interesting.

The latest update on the OUYA Kickstarter page has revealed new images of the in-development console, and controller. More importantly, there is the news that the Ouya will now include OnLive support as well.

With the addition of OnLive, OUYA instantly gets more interesting as this means it will provide instant streaming of a lot of big games from their catalog. I’ve played around with OnLive on the PC and while it may not get all of the big games when they are released, it does have a very decent selection of games that is constantly growing. It’s not something that is going to put OUYA over the top or even up with the big boys, but it’s a nice start.

Ouya Onlive

“When OnLive first heard about OUYA, we were excited to see console gaming becoming more available and open. Like OUYA, we came to gaming with a new vision for making top-quality gaming accessible to more people, and we continue to look for ways to expand on that vision.

OUYA is rethinking the console business, making waves by using standard technology to make gaming for your living room accessible, affordable and more innovative than ever. In OnLive’s case, we pioneered a groundbreaking, cloud-based system that instantly delivers games to any device on demand.” Bruce Grove, General Manager of OnLive said in a release today.

Ouya Controller

The folks at Ouya are also pulling back the curtain on the nearly final controller design (the button colors are still being decided), and the final design of the console itself. The image above will show you the controller and we also have a couple of shots of the console below. What do you think? Is OnLive going to make the Ouya a success? Still not convinced? Let us know.
