Five Good Games With Easy Achievements

Posted by Peter Carpenter | 04 Jul 2012 |

Boost your gamerscore, legitimately.

I can’t even count the number of times that I have argued with Scott over games with easy achievements as we battled back and forth to see who had the higher gamerscore, with him arguing that I cheated by playing games with easy achievements and me arguing that it was legitimate if they were easy by design. Some of the games were crap, like Jumper: Griffin’s Story and King Kong, and were painful to play, even if it was for some easy achievements.

Because of games like that, there is nothing better than to find a game that you actually enjoy playing that has easy achievements as well. Whether you want to boost your gamerscore a little bit, or want to add more games to your 100% completion list, here are our top five good games with easy achievements.

3 on 3 NHL Arcade

Even though it’s an Xbox Live Arcade Game and only worth 200G, it’s still a great little arcade hockey game that’s very easy when it comes to getting all of the achievements. You can get all 12 of the achievements by playing only two games, and that’s only because two of the achievements require you to play online. They are all easy to achieve tasks such as get a shutout, play an online game with two local guests, win an online game, hit a player over the boards, score 10 goals in one game and a few other easy ones. Anyone who has played NHL Hitz on the original Xbox will feel right at home while playing 3 on 3, even if it’s not quite the same, it’s still pretty fun. You can read our 3 on 3 NHL Arcade review here.

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is split up into five episodes and only two have been released yet but both of them featured very easy achievements and if the other three episodes are the same then it’s going to be very easy to get all of them. All you have to do is beat each Episode on Normal difficulty and you get all of the achievements. Each Episode is worth 100G so it’ll be an easy 500G in the end. The game itself is quite good and only gets better with each episode and I think anyone who is a fan of the Comic or TV Show will highly enjoy the game. You can read our reviews of the first two episodes here.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition

Not all of the achievements in Minecraft on the Xbox are easy, but even the hard ones aren’t really all that hard. You’ll get the majority of the 400G up for grabs in Minecraft by just crafting items like tools, a cake and the nether portal, befriending five wolves and some other very easy tasks. The ones that are semi-hard aren’t hard to do, but can take time to complete them. The hardest one to get is the one for a pig receiving fall damage while you are riding it. It can take time to find a saddle in the hidden underground chests and then once you are on the pig it can take time for them to actually fall and get hurt. There are a few ways to get a saddle easier if you haven’t found one yet, and here is one video that should help.

Lost Via Domus

There are going to be a lot of people who say that Lost Via Domus is a terrible game and while I’m not saying it’s the best game ever by any means, it’s still good enough that any hardcore Lost fans should have a decent time with it. Plus it has some pretty easy achievements as well. You’ll get the majority of the achievements from just beating the game and going through all of the memories in the flashbacks and the rest are mostly for just taking pictures of things. It’s one of the best games that you’ll play with an easy 1000G, and it doesn’t hurt if you are a big fan of the TV Show either.

Terminator Salvation

Based on the movie reboot of the same name, Terminator Salvation is a Third-Person Cover-Based Shooter that is heavy on action and a perfect rainy day game for when you just want to shoot things, blow stuff up and get some easy achievements. It’s not going to blow your mind, or do anything you haven’t seen before, but it’s a nice action-packed ride that will reward you with some very easy achievements in the end. If you beat the game on Medium difficulty you’ll get 820 of the 1000G alone or beat it on Hard and you’ll get the additional 180G. It doesn’t get much easier than that for 1000G.
