With a special surprise.
11 Bit Studios announced this week that they are going to release their hit Tower Offense game, Anomaly: Warzone Earth, on the Playstation Network some time this summer, and as a bonus it’s going to bring some co-op with it.
The PS3 version will include two player local co-op only, with both players controlling a Commander on the battlefield, but only one player will be able to buy and upgrade the troops and the other player controls the strategy and route that the troops take. When I reviewed the Xbox Live Arcade version of the game, which didn’t include any form of co-op, I didn’t really see how they could make co-op work and I was ok with it not featuring any.
It seems that 11 Bit disagreed with me and found a way that they feel makes sense and in the end makes the game even better. From the video they released it does look like they found a great way to allow players to play together and as someone who really liked the game, I’m very interested to check it out. I also wouldn’t argue with an update to add co-op to the XBLA version.
