Ubisoft shows us their best kept secret.
One of the biggest surprises of the day at E3 2012 was Ubisoft’s last game shown at their press conference. For the last two years, Ubisoft Montreal (my personal favorite Ubisoft studio) have been secretly developing an open world action game titled Watch Dogs.
Set in a near-future world where every aspect of every city is controlled by computers running the CTOS operating system. Anything can be hacked at any time, if you know what you’re doing, so the security that automation should bring is tenuous and unreliable.
Bringing together the themes of rebellion against ‘Big Brother’ and the dangers of rapid technological advance, Watch Dogs presents a scenario that could be all too real in the years to come. It also looks like a lot of fun. Check out the E3 2012 gameplay demo below and look for more on Watch Dogs in the days to come.
