More maps, more characters, more guns.
Bioware aren’t sitting idly by and letting Mass Effect 3′s multiplayer ride off into the sunset. Not only are fans of Mass Effect 3′s online mode getting another DLC pack, this one is free as well. While we’re all still waiting to see what happens with further story DLC somewhere at Bioware there are people hard at work on some new maps. Let’s take a look inside the Rebellion Pack.
What You Get
At the center of the Rebellion Pack is two new maps, Firebase Jade and Firebase Goddess. Firebase Jade is a research facility on the Salarian homeworld that overlooks a reservoir built deep in the jungle. Waterfalls and mountains dominate the background while the ruins of the facility provide plenty of cover.
Firebase Goddess is located in a ruined temple on Thessia, the Asari homeworld and will remind you of one of the final missions from the single player game. The Rebellion Pack is the first DLC to add a new mission objective to Mass Effect 3′s multiplayer. Retrieval Mode is now an event that can happen during a wave. This objective will task you with picking up a package from an enemy spawn point and running it back to your goal.
With this DLC you’ll also be getting a few new guns and character unlocks added to the pool of gear available in resupply packs. New to this DLC are the Reegar Carbine, Krysae Sniper Rifle and Cerberus Harrier on the weapon side. As for characters you can now unlock the Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator, Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel, Phoenix Adept and Vanguard.
Verdict
While neither Firebase Jade or Firebase Goddess impressed me in the same way that the maps from the Resurgence Pack did, the Rebellion Pack is free so obviously you should go and grab it. We’re never going to argue with free DLC, I just had a little higher hope for the maps after the last content drop.
