Put down that plastic guitar, you won’t be needing it.
Tonight on X-Play, Harmonix announced that their new game Rock Band Blitz would be released this summer and won’t use any plastic peripherals.
Rock Band Blitz is a fast paced, arcade game where you use the controller to switch back and forth between instrument tracks during the song, getting combos, collecting power-ups, and increasing your multiplier to get the highest score you can. Rock Band Blitz will come with 25 new tracks, which you can import to Rock Band 3 as well, and will be compatible with every Rock Band song you have purchased for any game in the series.
Using a controller isn’t as interesting as using the plastic guitar, to me anyway, but we’ll have to see how this one plays out. Harmonix seem to know what they are doing when it comes to music games, so I won’t doubt them until they prove me wrong.
