It’s for the Kids!
As you may have seen in some earlier posts, The Controller Online team is participating this year’s Gaming and Giving for Good (G3) gaming marathon. Together, our team has raised $1160 for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and you can still Donate Here! We will be gaming together on Xbox Live from Noon to Midnight EST as part of the marathon so we hope to see you all at one point or another. We’ll be updating this article throughout the day with details of our shenanigans.

The Timeline
12:00 PM EST – Warmup and general organizing with the Battlefield 3 Beta.
12:30 PM EST – Starting up a round of Halo 3: ODST Firefight on Lost Platoon. Get ready for some warthog mayhem. We’re going to try to break our personal best of 1.3 million points. Grunt Birthday Party status: Enabled.

12:52 PM EST – Well it was a good warmup round. Let’s try another. Lost Platoon again. JD is lonely, you can go join him for some classic Modern Warfare, the first one, he’s online.

1:48 PM EST – We’re on the 2nd set and a quarter of the way to a million. No hot-dogging!

2:33 PM EST – We’re at 750,000 points, over halway to our best. See you in Mombasa!
2:57 PM EST – One…. MILLION points. It’s not far out now.
3:13 PM EST – 1.22 Million point, sigh, then we died. Good show though team. What’s next?
3:25 PM EST – Battlefield 3 Beta/Food Break/Re-group before Gears 3 Horde mode.

4:23 PM EST – Gears 3 Time! A little Versus while these jerks get their act together. Then we’re getting to wave 50 in Horde. It’s happening, deal with it.
4:41 PM EST – Gears 3, Horde Mode starts now. With a special guest appearance by foreign correspondent, Adam (aka Ed).
5:47 PM EST – Wave 20 complete. It’s been a tough road so far. Two Brumaks! I’m calling Cliffy B, this isn’t fair.

6:52 PM EST – Wave 36, everybody’s dead. Back at it.

8:17 PM EST – Finally completed wave 40, holy crap. “All House.” – Ed.

9:14 PM EST – Short Break and we’re back at it, starting wave 48 right now.
9:50 PM EST – Horde Mode, Wave 50, no big deal. Now we just have to beat it.
10:09 PM EST – Travis and Pete pull out the win, by the skin of their teeth. Horde Mode conquered, what now?

10:21 PM EST – Halo Reach it is. Good way to close out the night.

11:35 PM EST – Ending with some SWAT. Brig and Travis are crying pretty hard. SWAT’s awesome, suck it up.
