Indie Game Spotlight: Rock ‘N’ Mole Extreme

Indie whack-a-mole with a touch of violence.

How would you like to dust off your Rock Band drums for some old school arcade fun? How about for $1? Stinky Badger Games has the perfect solution for your neglected plastic instruments. Rock ‘N’ Mole Extreme combines gratuitous rodent violence with your old Rock Band or Guitar Hero drums to create a bloody, $1 whack-a-mole machine in your living room.

Totally authentic.

For you kids who have no idea what a whack-a-mole machine is (google it, duh), it was an old school arcade machine that put a big padded mallet in your hands and had you literally whack moles as they popped up. Rock ‘N’ Mole Extreme follows this same basic formula but has each of the front four mole holes mapped to a drum pad on your kit. The kick pedal is used as a sort of shift button that, when pressed, has you aiming at the top row of mole holes.

This game is really quite simple, you compete for combos while avoiding hitting the rabbits and racking up huge combos in a wave of mole mutilation. You can get up to four friends in on the action, one at time, and also send a pre-written message to anyone on your friends list boasting of your high score.

Very adult.

If you’re like me, and got tired of failing All That Remains songs on Expert, and your drums were gathering dust, you can drag them out at your next party and take your agression out on some digital rodents. It’s only $1 and will save you a lot compared to all the quarters you would drop at an arcade. It will also save you from trying to actually find an arcade.
